Ellis Counseling & Career Pathways
Welcome to My Practice
With over 20 years of experience as a dedicated social worker, I am committed to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and unlock their fullest potential. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), career preparation, and college counseling, providing personalized and compassionate support to help you overcome obstacles, achieve your goals, and create a brighter future.
My professional journey has been shaped by both education and extensive real-world experience. I earned my degrees from University of Alaska Anchorage and University of Maryland at Baltimore, where I developed a strong foundation in social work and counseling. Alongside my academic accomplishments, I proudly served nearly 25 years with the United States Public Health Service, where I had the honor of retiring after a fulfilling federal career.
Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to improving the lives of others, combining evidence-based therapeutic practices like CBT with practical guidance in career development and college preparation.
Whether you're seeking help with managing stress, navigating career transitions, or preparing for higher education, I am here to support you every step of the way.
I take a laid-back, client-centered approach to counseling. I believe that therapy should be a comfortable space where we can work together at your pace. And, while we’ll cover some serious ground, one of my favorite coping mechanisms is humor. I’ve found that laughter can be an incredibly powerful tool to reduce stress, build rapport, and create a lighthearted space for growth and healing.
My goal is to provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment where you can feel comfortable exploring your challenges, goals, and aspirations. Together, we will work towards lasting change, growth, and success.
Thank you for visiting my site, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with you soon.
